CLINTON, N.Y. – The Connecticut College women's tennis team suffered an 8-1 setback against Hamilton College on Saturday afternoon at the Margaret Bundy Scott Field House.
The Camels took a point in doubles play but saw the Continentals sweep through all six singles matches. Hamilton improved to 5-5 overall (2-4 NESCAC) with the victory.
The duo of
Courtney Banks (North Haven, Conn.) and
Maya Kowalska (Feasterville-Trevose, Pa.) secured a win at No. 2 doubles, defeating the team of Shannon Cicero and Hannah Walpole by an 8-6 final. Banks and Kowalska improved to 6-4 as a tandem and are tied for the most wins among Conn doubles partners this season.
Hamilton won all six singles matches in straight sets.
Lily Kerachsky (East Greenwich, R.I.) gave Stephanie Pratt a tough battle at No. 2, forcing a tiebreaker in the opening set before falling 7-6, 6-2.
Conn (6-8 overall, 0-6 NESCAC) will next play at Amherst College on Sunday, April 14 at noon.
