Men's Lacrosse Falls to Hamilton on Senior Day

NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Connecticut College men's lacrosse team fell by a 13-6 final to Hamilton College on Saturday afternoon in NESCAC action at Silfen Field.

Jesse Delinsky scored five goals as the Continentals picked up the win in their regular season finale. With the victory, Hamilton (8-6 overall) improved to 4-6 in league play and clinched a spot in the upcoming NESCAC Championship.

Liam Horkan (Malden, Mass.) paced the Camels with three goals while Bobby Chang (South Salem, N.Y.), Henry Cabot (Ipswich, Mass.) and Nick McLaughlin (Wilbraham, Mass.) added solo markers. Lorenzo Vogliano (New York, N.Y.) helped fuel the attack with three assists.

The Camels fell behind 5-0 in the first half and never recovered. Conn got on the scoreboard with 9:40 left in stanza on a rocket by Chang, and a minute later Horkan scored off a Vogliano feed to cut the deficit to three. However, Will Heher pocketed a pair of scores in the final 7:10 of the half to give the Continentals a 7-2 advantage at intermission.

In the third quarter, Cabot picked up his first career goal as the Conn sideline erupted in celebration. Horkan later netted the first of his two man-up goals on the day to make it an 8-4 game with 5:20 left in the third.

Hamilton used a 4-0 run to pull away in the fourth quarter. McLaughlin scored on an unassisted effort with 5:15 remaining, and Horkan completed the hat trick with another man-up tally with 1:45 to go.

Goalie Will Rice (New Rochelle, N.Y.) faced 32 shots and made eight saves in the setback. Aidan Gaudet (Cheshire, Conn.) went 13-for-22 at the face-off spot and grabbed a game-high six ground balls.

Following the game, the Camels celebrated their 10 seniors in a special ceremony. The group included Jack Tenzer, Colin Ryan, Cabot, Jack Gurney, Chang, Ben St. Germain, Ethan Bankowski, Michael Curran, Ren DeBartolomeis and Rice.

Conn (4-8 overall, 1-8 NESCAC) will play its final NESCAC game of the season at Wesleyan University on Wednesday, April 24 at 4:30 p.m.
