WORCESTER, Mass. -- The Connecticut College men's rowing team competed at the McCarthy-McGee Challenge Cup on Saturday morning on Lake Quinsigamond.
For the third straight year, WPI defeated Boston College to retain the Cup. The Engineers were second overall in the marquee event and won their other two races.
In the 1V8 race, it was Coast Guard that was first to the finish line in 6:18.10, trailed by WPI (6:28.38) and BC (6:40.33). Conn's boat, coxed by
Callista Crisonino, placed fourth and completed the 2,000-meter course in a time of 7:07.68.
The Camels also had a boat in the water for the 2V8 competition. The Engineers tasted victory in 6:32.89 ahead of Coast Guard (6:41.79) and BC (6:47.25). Conn, led by
Ben Levine, crossed the line in fourth at 7:25.82.
Conn is back on the water at the New England Championships on Saturday, May 4 at Lake Quinsigamond.
