MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Connecticut College women's tennis team fell 9-0 in its regular season finale against No. 3 Wesleyan University on Sunday afternoon at the John Wood Memorial Courts.
Wesleyan remained unbeaten on the year at 15-0 and clinched the top seed in the upcoming NESCAC Championship with a 10-0 league record. The Cardinals captured all three doubles matches for the early 3-0 lead and went on to win all six singles matches in straight sets.
Conn put up a fight at No. 2 and 3 doubles, as the teams of
Lily Kerachsky (East Greenwich, R.I.) and
Caitlin Cass (Newcastle, Maine) and
Ella Griffiths (Concord, Mass.) and
Sana Bhat (New Delhi) each lost by 8-5 finals. In singles, Cass won a combined four games against Caitlyn Ferrante at the No. 1 spot, and Bhat took four games in her opening set against Lane Durkin at the No. 5.
Conn finished the season with an overall record of 7-12 overall (0-10 NESCAC).
