WORCESTER, Mass. -- The Connecticut College women's rowing team wrapped up the 2024 season at the National Invitational Rowing Championship on Sunday at Lake Quinsigamond.
The Camels put a pair of varsity 8 boats in the water for the event, which also doubled as the NESCAC Championship. Both boats qualified for the Third Level Final after morning heats, and each improved on their performances from the NERC regatta a week ago.
Conn's top boat turned in its fastest run of the season in the finals, crossing the line first in 7:19.29 ahead of Clark, Skidmore, Rochester, Mt. Holyoke, St. Lawrence and Colby. The Camels dropped 18 seconds from their preliminary time, which was the largest drop of time between a heat and final of the entire regatta.
The 2v8 boat had a strong performance, finishing fourth in 8:02.81 while beating Mt. Holyoke and St. Lawrence. In the preliminary heat, the Camels placed ahead of Skidmore with a time of 7:48.90.
Tufts (6:52.09) took home the gold in the 1V8 race and finished as runner-up to Williams (7:09.35) in the 2V8 race.
