BRUNSWICK, Maine. – Four members of the Connecticut College women's tennis team competed at the 2024 ITA New England Regionals on Friday on the campus of Bowdoin College.
The Camels began the day with a pair of doubles matches. The duo of
Caitlin Cass (Newcastle, Maine) and
Lily Kerachsky (East Greenwich, R.I.) played a tandem from Babson College and lost by an 8-4 final.
Maya Kowalska (Feasterville-Trevose, Pa.) and
Evin Cosar (Shrewsbury, Mass.) battled hard but suffered an 8-6 setback against a squad from Tufts University.
All four Camels also saw action in singles play. Cass and Kowalska played in the "A" draw and lost in the opening round. Cass took on third-seeded Fiona Lee of MIT and lost 6-1, 6-1 while Kowalska fell 6-3, 6-0 to Wesleyan's Lucinda Gatsiounis.
In the "B" draw, Cosar lost to Trinity's Kendall Cedar by an 8-3 final in the opening round. Kerachsky, who automatically advanced to the round of 32 due to a withdrawal, fell by an 8-4 count against Babson's Elena Keitt.
Conn will wrap up the fall slate at the Springfield Invitational on October 12.
