Box Score MEDFORD, Mass. – Three members of the Connecticut College men's tennis team competed at the 2024 ITA New England Regionals on Friday on the campus of Tufts University.
The Camels began the day with doubles play, with the duo of
Arjun Premkumar (Bangalor, India) and
Wolf Sohlberg (Espoo, Finland) advancing to the round of 32. In their opening match, the tandem doubled up Wheaton's Jaime Galligo Subirana and Jake Murray by an 8-4 final. However, they didn't fare as well against the Middlebury squad of Hugh Hentschel and Neil Epstein, which won by an 8-0 tally.
Both Premkumar and Sohlberg competed in singles action later in the day. Both lost their opening matches, although Premkumar took the opening set off eighth-seeded Mark Kneiss of Bowdoin before falling in three. Sohlberg fell in straight sets to Williams' Leon Liu.
Nikhil Agarwal (San Mateo, Calif.) competed in the "B" singles draw and picked up a win in his opening match, besting Williams' Carter Fayard by an 8-6 score. He then took on Sebastian Mendoza of Babson in the round of 32, falling by an 8-3 final.
Conn will next host Springfield College on Saturday, September 28 at 10 a.m.
