WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The Connecticut College men's swimming and diving team fell by a 199-99 final against Williams College on Saturday afternoon at Samuelson-Muir Pool.
The Camels posted wins in three swimming events and had several close runner-up finishes.
Evan Lyons (Longmeadow, Mass.) paced the squad with a pair of victories while
Justin Finkel (Cheshire, Conn.) provided the other.
Lyons's day began with a dominant swim in the 1,650 free (16:18.81), turning in the best time of the session.
Jack Mattison-Gulotta (Florence, Mass.) was next to the wall but trailed his teammate by nearly four seconds.
Finkel captured first place in the 200 fly (1:50.64). He recorded the fastest final 50 of the heat and finished five seconds ahead of his nearest competitor.
Lyons and Finkel later duked it out in the 500 free, with the former picking up the victory in 4:42.50. Finkel secured second place with a time of 4:45.35.
Carrick Shea (Grafton, Mass.) finished as runner-up in both the 100 breast (56.99) and 200 breast (2:07.28), just fractions of a second behind Williams' Oliver Schalet in each event.
Aiden Miller (Westfield, N.J.) was also a close second in the 200 free (1:42.67), as was
Nicholas Holovacs (Hingham, Mass.) in the 50 free (21.66).
Conn will next host Colby College on Monday, January 20 at 1:00 p.m.
