Koskinen Sets Facility Record in Pole Vault at Men's Track and Field Competes at Coast Guard Invite

NEW LONDON, Conn. – Chris Koskinen set the Coast Guard facility record in the pole vault, and the Connecticut College men's track and field team competed at the Coast Guard Invitational.

On the Track

200 Meters

  • Chris Koskinen (Yarmouth, Maine) finished fifth with a time of 23.87.

600 Meters

  • David Iacino (Burlington, Conn.) claimed victory with a time of 1:25.34.

  • Kevin Lieue (Bellevue, Wash.) finished sixth with a time of 1:28.05.

  • Joao Ferreira (Lisbon, Portugal) finished ninth with a time of 1:29.36.

1000 Meters

  • Henry Pfeifer (West Orange, N.J.) finished second with a time of 2:40.59.

  • Dax Arnold (New York, N.Y.) finished fourth with a time of 2:46.64.

  • Maximilian Bennett (Watertown, Mass.) finished ninth with a time of 2:55.77.

Mile

  • Brendan Cappodano (Port Jefferson, N.Y.) finished second with a time of 4:37.99.

  • Alex Santos Acosta (West Hempstead, N.Y.) finished fourth with a time of 4:42.95.

  • Deem Quinn (Cranston, R.I.) finished seventh with a time of 4:45.39.

  • Blake Rogers (Riverside, R.I.) finished ninth with a time of 4:47.58.

  • Koskinen claimed victory, clearing a height of 4.92, breaking the Coast Guard facility record and setting a national qualifying mark.

  • Apostolopoulos finished eighth with a distance of 6.24m.

Shot Put

  • Victory Alayande (London, England) finished seventh with a throw of 13.37m.

Conn travels to Boston, Mass. to take part in Middlebury's New England Small College Invite next Sunday at The Track at New Balance.
