NEW LONDON, Conn. - The men's and women's cross country teams are set to host the highly-competitive Connecticut College Invitational on Saturday, October 18 at Harkness Memorial State Park in Waterford, CT. The meet will feature a combined 28 nationally-ranked teams between the men's 8K and women's 6K races.
In the men's field, 34 schools will compete in the blue race including 12 ranked in the most recent United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NCAA Division III Coaches Poll. Six of the top 10 teams in the country will be in the field—#3 Johns Hopkins, #4 NYU, #7 SUNY Geneseo, #8 Williams, #9 Tufts and #10 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps—along with #12 Amherst, #19 Lynchburg, #22 St. Olaf, #23 MIT, #26 Wesleyan and #28 Middlebury.
The women's field is even more stacked, with nearly half of the schools ranked in the most recent USTFCCCA NCAA Division III Coaches Poll, including the host Camels. Conn has been ranked in every weekly poll this season and checks in at #16 in the country in the latest version. The field includes the top-5 teams in the country—#1 NYU, #2 Williams, #3 Johns Hopkins, #4 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and #5 MIT—as well as #9 Carleton, #11 SUNY Geneseo, #12 Amherst, #13 Middlebury, #14 Washington & Lee, #18 Tufts, #19 Vassar, #26 St. Olaf, #27 Coast Guard and #29 Wesleyan. Of the 33 teams, 22 are currently ranked in the top-5 of their region.

SPECTATOR PARKING
SPECTATORS MAY NOT PARK AT HARKNESS PARK
All spectators must go to the large parking lot at Waterford Beach Park (317 Great Neck Road, Waterford, CT), less than one mile from
Harkness Park. Exceptions will only be made for those with an approved Disabled Person Parking Permit clearly displayed in or on their vehicle. Two shuttle buses will transport spectators between Waterford Beach Park and the main parking lot at Harkness Park. The shuttle bus service will run continuously between the two sites from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
There will be a suggested donation of $5 per car for shuttle bus service, and net proceeds will be donated to Dana Farber Cancer Institute in memory of Caroline Grape '22.
Driving directions from Harkness Park to Waterford Beach Park are as follows:
Head east on Great Neck Road (Route 213) beyond the main gate until you reach the next stop sign (approximately 1/4 mile). Turn right and continue past the entrance to Camp Harkness to the next stop sign (approximately 1/4 mile). Turn right into Waterford Beach Park & the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center. Follow the road to the large parking lot at the back of the park. If the lot becomes full, overflow parking is available on the adjacent field.
