NEW LONDON, Conn. – Connecticut College is set to host the 2025 NESCAC Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships on Saturday, November 1 at Harkness Memorial State Park in Waterford, Conn.
A total of 22 teams will take part in the event, which opens with the men's 8K race at 11 a.m. followed by the women's 6K race at noon. A short awards ceremony will take place after the completion of the women's race.
Six of the 11 teams in the men's field are ranked in the latest USTFCCCA poll, led by No. 4 Tufts. The Jumbos will battle No. 7 Williams and No. 15 Amherst for the team title, with No. 20 Wesleyan, No. 22 Middlebury and No. 28 Colby all looking to join the fight. Two weeks ago at the Conn College Invitational, the top-3 NESCAC runners–Williams' Rich Yanashita and Eli Welch, and Tufts' Cullen McCaleb–all finished within one second of each other.
Ellis Iurilli-Hough has paced the Camels in every event this season. The junior, who turned in a career-best time of 24:39.2 at the Conn College Invitational, will look to challenge for a spot atop the leader board.
The women's field will also include six nationally-ranked teams, but the real question is if anyone can knock off No. 1 Williams for the team title. Squads from No. 9 Middlebury and No. 13 Conn College may be up to the task, and chasing them down will be No. 17 Tufts, No. 18 Amherst and No. 25 Bowdoin. Middlebury's Audrey MacLean will look to repeat as individual medalist, coming off a dominant performance on the same course two weeks ago at the Conn College Invitational.
The Camels return a veteran group headlined by
Grace McDonough, one of the top runners in the conference. Last time out she recorded the fastest 6K time in school history. Conn also has a chance to place multiple runners on the all-conference squad for the first time since 2019.
