NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Connecticut College men's soccer team earned the fifth-seed in the NESCAC Tournament and opens up postseason play on Saturday as the Camels travel to Williamstown, Mass. to take on fourth-seed Williams at 1:30 p.m.
The defending NESCAC Champions, Conn enters the playoffs at 8-2-5 overall with a 4-2-4 mark in conference play, while riding an eight game unbeaten streak.
Conn is the fifth-seed for the first time since 2016 and has earned a berth to the NESCAC Tournament for the 14th consecutive season. The Camels have played in the last four semifinals and reached the championship game three of the last four years.
Williams enters the matchup at 8-3-4 on the year and 5-3-2 in conference action.
The Camels defeated Williams 1-0 on Saturday, October 25 as Marco Perugini notched the only goal of the contest. The quarterfinal is also a rematch of last season's semifinal, which Conn won 2-1.
Entering postseason play, Perugini leads the Camels attack with 14 points on five goals and four assists. Gavin Mpiana and Elliot Spatz have chipped in three goals each, while Matt Quiros-Newton and Max Weiss have added two goals apiece.
Defensively, Conn has allowed just nine goals on the season, which ranks tied for 15th in the nation. TJ Krongard has started 14 of 15 games in goal this season, recording seven clean sheets, with a 0.647 goals against average and a 0.780 save percentage.
The winners of this weekend's four quarterfinals will advance to next weekend's semifinals and finals, which will be hosted by the highest remaining seed.
