Perugini Earns NESCAC Player of the Week Honors

HADLEY, Mass. – Connecticut College junior Marco Perugini (Medway, Mass.) was named New England Small College Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the sport of men's soccer, as announced by the league on Monday afternoon.

Perugini paced Conn. College with six points in a 1-0-1 week. On Tuesday night at Trinity, Perugini assisted both goals for the Camels in a 2-2 draw. On Saturday at Rhode Island College, Perugini led the way with two goals, including a free kick, as the Camels defeated the host Anchormen 4-0.

"Marco had a productive offense week for us with two assists at Trinity as well as two goals at Rhode Island College," said head coach Reuben Burk. "He has great confidence in and around the goal which other players feed off of. We have 5 very important games left and we will look towards Marco to help with even more productivity"

Perugini becomes the second Camel to earn Player of the Week honors this season, and currently leads the team with nine points on three goals and three assists.

Conn (4-2-4 overall, 1-2-3 NESCAC) returns to action on Saturday as the Camels travel to Clinton, N.Y. to take on Hamilton in a NESCAC matchup at 1:30 p.m.
