Neither side generated much in the opening minutes of the final frame, but Wesleyan found the go-ahead goal, at 7:46 Jack DesRuisseaux to make it 2-1. With just over five minutes remaining Conn had a chance to tie the game with a five-on-three power play, but Owen Mahar scored shorthanded for the Cardinals to make it 3-1 at 14:43. However, just 40 seconds later, Stanger fired home a shot off a pass from Reece Cordray (Verona, Wis.) to cut the deficit to one. The Camels pushed looking for the tying goal, but came up short, falling 3-2.
