HADLEY, Mass. – Connecticut College junior Rae Wartelle (Tacoma, Wash.) was one of 19 players recognized by the New England Small College Athletic Conference on Thursday morning for the sport of women's volleyball.

Wartelle was named to the All-NESCAC Second Team, earning the honor for the first time in her career. All awards were determined by a vote of the conference's head coaches.

"Rae was a rock for us all season," said head coach Josh Edmed. "She delivered for us offensively, controlled the net with her block and took chances to score points from the service line. It was so fun to see her growth this year, and I'm really excited for her to take that next step as a senior."

Wartelle enjoyed a breakout season in which she started all 23 matches and led the Camels in kills (262), blocks (64), service aces (39) and total points (339). She ranked fifth in the NESCAC in kills per set (3.08) and sixth in aces per set (0.46), and during the season she eclipsed career milestones of 600 kills and 150 blocks.

The Camels finished the season with an overall record of 12-11 (3-7 NESCAC). Conn qualified for the NESCAC Championship for the third year in a row but was eliminated in the quarterfinals.
