WILLIMANTIC, Conn. – The Connecticut College men's basketball team suffered its first setback of the season on Tuesday night, falling by a 95-82 final against Eastern Connecticut State University in non-conference action at Geissler Gymnasium.

The Warriors used a 12-0 run to pull ahead in the opening minutes and never relented. Eastern shot 59 percent for the game and connected on 11 of 23 attempts from beyond the arc. Ray Carter drained five three-pointers and led all scorers with 21 points to pace Eastern, which improved to 4-1 on the season.

James LaFrance (Guilford, Conn.) led four Camels in double figures with 17 points. Greg Cantwell (Glen Head, N.Y.) finished with 14 points, seven rebounds, three assists and three steals while Elias Espinosa (Leonia, N.J.) added 14 points and two steals, and Dylan Watson (Mount Kisco, N.Y.) rounded out the group with 12 points and eight boards.

Cantwell and Espinosa provided early buckets to spot the Camels a 5-2 advantage before the Warriors responded with their run. Carter and Dominick Dao each chipped in threes as Eastern jumped out to a 14-5 lead and never trailed again.

Carter netted 15 points in the first half as the Warriors built the margin to 51-33 by the break. Jalen Hamblin also tacked on 10 first-half points for Eastern while Cantwell and RJ Casey (Nashville, Tenn.) supplied eight apiece for the Camels.
