WILLIMANTIC, Conn. – The Connecticut College women's basketball team cruised to a 65-46 victory over Eastern Connecticut State University on Tuesday evening at Geissler Gymnasium.

The Camels led for a majority of the contest, getting offensive contributions from 12 players on the roster. Sofia Tavarez (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.) led the charge with 11 points and added four rebounds and three assists, and Catherine Cole (Lebanon, N.H.) tacked on 10 points and three helpers.

Conn got out of the gates quickly, jumping out to a 16-3 advantage thanks to 7-for-12 shooting at the start. Cole and Sydney Marshall (Enfield, Conn.) each scored a pair of buckets during the run while Valeria Santiago Dedos (Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico) chipped in a three.

Leading 19-7 after one, the Camels added to the margin in the second quarter as Cole tallied all 10 of her points before the break. Cole, Paige Raynor (Storrs, Conn.), Mia Xerras (Charlotte, N.C.) and Sydney Feeney (North Attleboro, Mass.) all knocked down triples in the period as Conn led 39-22 at intermission.

Tavarez netted nine points in the third quarter to keep the Camels rolling. In the fourth, Conn took its largest lead of the day at 63-39 on a bucket by Charlotte Head (Holden, Mass.) with 4:56 to go.

The Camels held the Warriors to 29-percent shooting that included a 3-for-19 effort from deep. Conn also owned the glass by a 51-40 margin as Marshall and Hayle Thompson (Maynard, Mass.) grabbed six rebounds apiece.

Eastern's Marissa Nudd led all scorers with 15 points as the Warriors dropped to 1-5 on the season.
