Volleyball Set For NESCAC Championship

WATERVILLE, Maine -- Seventh-seeded Connecticut College is set to take on second-seeded Colby College on Saturday afternoon in the quarterfinals of the 2025 NESCAC Women's Volleyball Championship.

The Camels are making their third straight postseason appearance and 18th in program history. Head coach Josh Edmed and his squad enter the tournament with an overall record of 12-10 that includes a 3-7 mark in league play.

Saturday's quarterfinal match up is set for a 1:00 p.m. start at the Margaret M. Crook Center. The winner will advance to the semifinals on November 14 at the site of the highest remaining seed.

Conn and Colby will meet for the fourth time in NESCAC Championship history. The Mules hold the slight edge in the series (2-1), including a win in last year's tournament quarterfinals.

The two teams last met on the final day of the regular season, with Colby pulling out a 3-1 victory in New London, Conn. The Mules enter the weekend with an overall record of 21-2 (9-1 NESCAC) that includes wins over three nationally-ranked opponents. The team is currently ranked sixth in Division III according to both the NCAA power index and AVCA national rankings.

Junior Rae Wartelle leads the Camels on the offensive end and averages 3.15 kills per set, and first year setter Aubrie Letourneau ranks second in the NESCAC at 9.35 assists per set. The back line is bolstered by junior Taylor Merrifield (3.12 digs/set) while Wartelle (0.78 blocks/set) leads the defensive effort at the net.
