WATERVILLE, Maine — Seventh-seeded Connecticut College fell by a 3-0 final against second-seeded Colby College in the quarterfinals of the 2025 NESCAC Women's Volleyball Championship on Saturday afternoon at Margaret M. Crook Center.
The Mules, ranked sixth in the latest national poll, took care of business by set scores of 25-11, 25-11 and 25-16. Ingrid Zahn led the charge with a match-high 11 kills.
Grace Anderson (Pawling, N.Y.) paced the Camels with five kills while
Rae Wartelle (Tacoma, Wash.) and
Riley Lord (Exeter, N.H.) chipped in four each.
Colby came out focused from the start, opening the match with a 9-4 spurt to seize control. The Mules never trailed in the frame and closed with an 8-1 flurry to nab a 1-0 lead.
In the second set, Colby used an 8-0 run to grab a 16-5 advantage. It was a similar story in the third as an 11-0 spurt yielded a 14-3 lead for the Mules.
Colby was impressive at the net, racking up a total of 10 blocks. Cyanne Jones led the effort with one solo block and five block assists on the afternoon.
Aubrie Letourneau (Mattapoisett, Mass.) finished with 17 assists in the final game of the season, capping a solid rookie campaign in which she amassed 812 for the season. That total ranks eighth all-time in the program's single season record book.
Conn finished the 2025 season with an overall record of 12-11 (3-7 NESCAC).
