HADLEY, Mass. – Six Connecticut College student-athletes were named to their respective NESCAC Fall All-Sportsmanship Teams, as announced by the conference on Tuesday morning.
Senior
Nicholas DeMarco (Albany, N.Y.) of men's cross country, senior
Liz Freeman (Maynard, Mass.) of women's cross country, senior
Sophia Stevens (Shelburne, Vt.) of field hockey, senior
Sam Brockelman (Topsfield, Mass.) of men's soccer, senior
Caroline Camp (New London, N.H.) of women's soccer, and junior
Rae Wartelle (Tacoma, Wash.) of women's volleyball all made the team. Honorees were selected by the players and coaches from their respective teams.
Wartelle was one of five NESCAC student-athletes on the All-Sportsmanship Team who also earned all-conference honors this fall. DeMarco, a three-time honoree in cross country, was one of four NESCAC student-athletes to garner multiple selections in their career.
The All-Sportsmanship Team was created by the NESCAC Student Advisory Committee on Athletics (SAAC). The NESCAC SAAC serves as the liaison between the student-athletes of NESCAC member institutions and conference administrators. The committee provides a voice to represent the concerns of all student-athletes and to discuss issues impacting student-athlete welfare. The NESCAC SAAC represents all students who participate in intercollegiate athletics and promotes and celebrates their achievements.
