NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Connecticut College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and Athletes of Color Coalition (AOCC) are kicking off their holiday toy drive by sponsoring a Teddy Bear Toss at Friday night's men's ice hockey game.
Puck drop against Bowdoin College is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Fans are encouraged to bring a new stuffed animal with tags to toss onto the ice after Conn College scores its first goal. A limited number of teddy bears will also be available for purchase at the rink. If the Camels do not score, all stuffed animals will be tossed onto the ice at the conclusion of the game.
All plush toys and proceeds form on-site teddy bear sales will be donated to the Tommy Toy Fund, a program that provides gifts to children who would receive few or no toys during the holidays. The program is run and operated by United Way of Southeastern Connecticut with the partnership of many other groups, including the three distribution sites in Norwich, New London, and Dayville.
