NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Connecticut College women's ice hockey team closed out the regular season, defeating visiting Worcester State 4-1 on Saturday night from Dayton Arena. Conn improves to 11-11-1, while Worcester falls 13-9-2

It was a slow start for both teams with just three combined shots in the first six and a half minutes. Elizabeth Bonner (Westfield, N.J.) had the lone Conn shot, while Maeve Corcoran (Milton, Mass.) came up with two saves in the Camels net. Conn opened the scoring at 8:42. Charlotte Harris (Ystrad Mynach, Wales) played a pass to Kayla Kasprzak (Buffalo, N.Y.) at the point, Kasprzak shot wide on purpose, finding the stick of Bridget McGann (West Hartford, Conn.) who redirected the shot home to make it 1-0. Just two minutes later Conn doubled the lead with a power play marker. Harris found Casey Chesner (Great Falls, Va.) before feeding Serena Seiple (Wilmette, Ill.) who fired to the far post to give the Camels a 2-0 lead after one.

Conn continued to dominate play for most of the second period, but Lana Pacific shut the door, keeping the score at 2-0. However, with just over five minutes left in the period Worcester State got on the board. Sydney Vautour picked off a Conn pass before firing it into the net to cut the deficit to 2-1 heading to the third period.

The Camels were able to extend the lead back to two at 7:22. Seiple let a shot go that was stopped by Pacific, but Kylie McCarthy (Dedham, Mass.) followed up, banging home the rebound to make 3-1. Conn added an insurance marker with two minutes remaining. Bonner's initial shot was stopped, but the rebound fell to McGann who fired through the five-hole of Pacific to give the Camels the 4-1 win.

Conn outshot Worcester State 51-11, while winning 25 of 43 face-offs.

Corcoran picked up the win in goal, finishing with 10 saves. Three Camels recorded two points as McGann notched two goals, Harris had two assists, and Seiple chipped in a goal and a helper. McCarthy added the fourth goal, while Bonner, Chesner, and Kasprzak all added one assist.
