Men's & Women's S&D Earn CSCAA Academic Honors

NEW LONDON, Conn. – Connecticut College ranked among the 459 institutions recognized by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) when the organization announced its Scholar All-America Team award for the Fall 2024 semester.

The Camels earned the honor on both the men's and women's sides, as a total of 781 teams were recognized. These teams, comprising 19,209 student-athletes, were recognized for their outstanding academic achievements.

To earn this prestigious recognition, teams were required to achieve a grade point average (GPA) above 3.0 during the Fall 2024 semester. Of the selected teams, an impressive 654 recorded a GPA of 3.30 or higher, qualifying them for the Intercollegiate Coach Association Coalition All-Sport Academic Standings.

Under the direction of head coach Mindy Williams, Conn's women's program achieved a GPA of 3.76. The men's team posted a 3.63 mark under head coach Marc Benvenuti

All 11 institution in the New England Small College Athletic Conference were represented. The NESCAC was one of 19 conferences that demonstrated a commitment to academic excellence by placing 100% of active men's or women's teams on the Scholar All-America Team list.

Samantha Barany, Executive Director of the CSCAA, commented on the impressive accomplishments, saying, "The commitment to academic excellence demonstrated by these teams is truly admirable. It is inspiring to see student-athletes excel both in the pool and in the classroom. The CSCAA takes great pride in honoring and celebrating their dedication and achievements."

Founded in 1922, the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) is the nation's first organization of college coaches. The mission of the CSCAA is to advance the sport of swimming and diving with coaches at the epicenter of leadership, advocacy, and professional development.
