ORLANDO, Fla. – The Connecticut College men's tennis team wrapped up its spring trip with a 4-3 victory over Coe College on Sunday afternoon.
The Camels nabbed the doubles point and then added three wins in singles to take the win. Conn, which went 5-2 on the trip, has won five of its last six matches.
In doubles, the Camels got a 6-4 win from
Nikhil Agarwal (San Mateo, Calif.) and
Arjun Premkumar (Bangalore, India) at the top spot. The duo of
Jules Taylor-Kerman (New York, N.Y.) and
Sigmund Winiecki (Jaffrey, N.H.) also posted a 6-3 victory at No. 3, boosting Conn to a 1-0 advantage heading into singles action.
All three singles victories came in straight sets, with Premkumar and Agarwal holding things down at Nos. 1 and 2, respectively. Premkumar dropped only two games in his match while Agarwal surrendered four.
Gavin Anderson (Avon, Conn.) supplied the final win for Conn, cruising to a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 5.
Conn (9-5 overall) will next play at Nichols College on Saturday, March 22 at 11:00 a.m.
