Men's Track and Field Competes at Two Events on Busy Saturday

NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Connecticut College men's track and field competed in two events, the Brown and Gold Invitational hosted by Bryant and the Corsair Classic hosted by UMass Dartmouth.

On the Track at Bryant

800 Meters

  • David Iacino (Burlington, Conn.) finished 14th with a time of 1:58.33 earning NESCAC qualification.

  • Joao Ferreira (Lisbon, Portugal) finished 20th with a time of 1:59.51 earning NESCAC qualification.

  • Kevin Lieue (Bellevue, Wash.) finished 21st with a time of 2:00.13 earning NESCAC qualification.

1500 Meters

  • Matt Scardigno (Port Washington, N.Y.) finished third with a time of 3:55.70 earning NESCAC and NE D3 qualification.

5000 Meters

  • Brendan Capodanno (Port Jefferson, N.Y.) finished 29th with a time of 15:30.04 earning NESCAC qualification.

  • Nicholas DeMarco (Albany, N.Y.) finished 31st with a time of 15:39.59 earning NESCAC qualification. 

On the Track at UMass Dartmouth

100 Meters

  • Francisco Moreira (Belchertown, Mass.) finished 20th with a time of 11.68 earning NESCAC qualification.

400 Meters

  • Wesley Schreiber (New York, N.Y.) finished seventh with a time of 52.07 earning NESCAC qualification.

  • Finn Reiter (Modena, N.Y.) finished ninth with a time of 52.16 earning NESCAC qualification.

5000 Meters

  • Deem Quinn (Cranston, R.I) finished 11th with a time of 16:09.88 earning NESCAC qualification.

In the Field at UMass Dartmouth

Pole Vault

  • Koskinen claimed victory clearing a height of 4.70m earning NESCAC and NE D3 qualification.

  • Anders Larson (Concord, N.H.) finished third clearing a height of 4.10m earning NESCAC qualification.

Long Jump

  • Errol Apostolopoulos (Marblehead, Mass.) finished ninth with a distance of 5.78m earning NESCAC qualification.

  • Gibson finished 16th with a distance of 5.64m earning NESCAC qualification.

Conn returns to action next weekend as the Camels travel down the road to compete in the Coast Guard Invitational.
