Women's Track and Field Finishes Ninth at Trinity

HARTFORD, Conn. – The Connecticut College women's track and field team closed out the regular season finishing ninth at the Trinity College Invitational.

On the Track

100 Meters

  • Blessing Kieh (Monrovia, Liberia) finished second with a time of 12.22 earning NESCAC and NE D3 qualification.

  • Emmy Castano (Wilton, Conn.) finished 17th with a time of 13.02 earning NESCAC qualification.

  • Maya Bruno (Queensbury, N.Y.) finished 23 with a time of 13.57 earning NESCAC qualification.

200 Meters

  • Abby Ilusorio (San Diego, Calif.) finished ninth with a time of 26.23 earning NESCAC qualification.

  • Castano finished 15th with a time of 26.64 earning NESCAC qualification.

  • Alina Newman (Santa Monica, Calif.) finished 17th with a time of 27.20 earning NESCAC qualification.

  • Alexis Melvin (West Springfield, Mass.) finished 24th with a time of 27.75 earning NESCAC qualification.

  • Bruno finished 25th with a time of 27.79 earning NESCAC qualification.

400 Meters

  • Kailin Fuller (Bowdoinham, Maine) finished 11th with a time of 1:01.05 earning NESCAC qualification.

  • Ilusorio finished 15th with a time of 1:01.80 earning NESCAC qualification.

  • Melvin finished 23rd with a time of 1:03.79 earning NESCAC qualification.

  • Naomi Brightman (Cornwall, Vt.) finished 25th with a time of 1:04.21 earning NESCAC qualification.

800 Meters

  • Caroline Graziani (Concord, Mass.) finished 12th with a time of 2:22.88 earning NESCAC qualification.

  • Chase Ireland (Prospect, Conn.) finished 19th with a time of 2:27.70 earning NESCAC qualification.

  • Kate Moroney (Pleasantville, N.Y.) finished 21st with a time of 2:28.60 earning NESCAC qualification.

1500 Meters

  • Kiera Tallas (Fountain Valley, Calif.) claimed victory with a time of 4:39.19 earning NESCAC and NE D3 qualification.

  • Cleo Kilpatrick (Minneapolis, Minn.) finished 31st with a time of 5:11.68 earning NESCAC qualification.

5000 Meters

  • Gabbie Mogavero (West Springfield, Mass.) finished third with a time of 19:25.23 earning NESCAC qualification.

  • Annika Hegde (New York, N.Y.) finished fifth with a time of 21:02.28.

  • Caitlin Bird (Shrewsbury, Mass.) finished seventh with a time of 21:26.12.

100 Hurdles

  • Newman finished 17th with a time of 17.17 earning NESCAC qualification.

400 Hurdles

  • Liz Freeman (Maynard, Mass.) finished eighth with a time of 1:10.05 earning NESCAC qualification.

  • Mia Wolpe (Sudbury, Mass.) finished 17th with a time of 1:15.38 earning NESCAC qualification.

3000 Steeplechase

  • Mary Lonergan (Andover, Mass.) finished seventh with a time of 12:09.83 earning NESCAC and NE D3 qualification.

4x400 Relay

  • The group of Keating, Graziani, Ireland, and Freeman finished fourth with a time of 4:27.53.

In the Field

Pole Vault

  • Grace Mattaliano (Norfolk, Mass.) finished fourth clearing a height of 2.95m earning NESCAC qualification.

Triple Jump

  • Brenna O'Brien (North Andover, Mass.) finished 10th with a distance of 9.59m earning NESCAC qualification.

Shot Put

  • Kate Stone (Audubon, Pa.) finished 11th with a throw of 9.85m earning NESCAC qualification.

Triple Jump

  • O'Brien finished 18th with a throw of 26.93m earning NESCAC qualification.

Conn returns to action next weekend as the Camels travel to Middletown, Conn. to take part in the NESCAC Championships.
