NEW LONDON, Conn. – The No. 56 Connecticut College women's tennis team wrapped up the season with a 7-0 loss to No. 13 Amherst College on Sunday afternoon at the campus tennis courts.
The Mammoths won all nine matches on the day to improve 21-6 overall and 7-3 in NESCAC play.
In doubles, the duo of
Caitlin Cass (Newcastle, Maine) and
Mary Ella Prendergast (Mount Pleasant, S.C.) battled in a 6-4 loss at the No. 1 position. The lone singles match that required a third set was at the No. 2 spot, where
Maya Kowalska (Feasterville-Trevose, Pa.) fell in a 10-point tiebreaker after coming back from a set down.
Conn finished the season with an overall record of 6-12 overall (1-9 NESCAC).
