HADLEY, Mass. - After an outstanding weekend at the NESCAC Championships hosted by Wesleyan University, Connecticut College women's track & field's Grace McDonough (Londonderry, N.H.) was awarded the Sabasteanski Award for being the Most Outstanding Performer at the conference championships.

McDonough becomes the second Camel to earn the award, following Malissa Lindsey in 2022.

The junior was awarded the honor after claiming two victories on Saturday. McDonough opened the meet by defending her title in the 1500 meters, with a time of 4:25.47, which set a meet record. Additionally, McDonough became the first athlete to win back-to-back NESCAC Championships in the event since 2016-17; with her time currently ranked first in NCAA Division III.

McDonough followed that up with another meet record, winning the 5000 meters with a time of 16:41.56 to become the second Camel to win the event, and first since 2003. Her season-best time of 16:29.06 ranks fourth in Division III.

McDonough and qualifying Connecticut College track & field athletes will next compete at the Division III New England Championships at the Coast Guard Academy, beginning on Friday, May 2.
