Box Score HARTFORD, Conn. – Fresh off breaking into the national rankings earlier in the week, the Connecticut College women's tennis team rallied for a 5-2 victory over Trinity College on Saturday afternoon at Memorial Field House.

The Camels took five out of six singles matches to secure their first NESCAC victory since 2018. Caitlin Cass (Newcastle, Maine) and Mary Ella Prendergast (Mount Pleasant, S.C.) triumphed in both doubles and singles, and a win by Asahi Goods (Putnam Valley, N.Y.) at No. 6 singles wrapped up the team victory.

Trinity took two of the three doubles matches to start the day. Cass and Prendergast blanked their opponents at the No. 2 spot, but Conn lost by slim margins at the other two positions as the Bantams went up 1-0 early.

The Camels made up the difference in singles, posting straight set wins at five spots. Cass and Prendergast made quick work of their opponents at Nos. 1 and 4, respectively, to put Conn on top 2-1. However, Trinity evened the match at the No. 2 position, leaving the final result up to the last three matches of the day.

Lily Kerachsky (East Greenwich, R.I.) provided the next point at No. 5, holding off a strong charge in the second set to win by a 6-1, 7-5 tally. Goods then brought the Camels home with a 6-2, 6-2 win to clinch the match. Maya Kowalska (Feasterville-Trevose, Pa.) added the final touch with a 6-2, 7-5 win at No. 3.

Conn (5-6 overall, 1-3 NESCAC), ranked 71st in the latest ITA rankings, will next host Wesleyan University on Sunday, April 6 at 2:00 p.m.
