McDonough Shatters School Record in 5000 Meters at Coast Guard Invitational

NEW LONDON, Conn. – Grace McDonough (Londonderry, N.H.) shattered the school record in the 5000 meters, as the Connecticut College women's track and field team competed at the Coast Guard Academy Spring Invitational.

On the Track

100 Meters

  • Blessing Kieh (Monrovia, Liberia) claimed victory with a time of 12.41 earning NESCAC and NE D3 qualification.

  • Emmy Castano (Wilton, Conn.) finished ninth with a time of 13.37 earning NESCAC qualification.

200 Meters

  • Abby Ilusorio (San Diego, Calif.) finished fifth with a time of 27.48 earning NESCAC qualification.

  • Castano finished seventh with a time of 27.61 earning NESCAC qualification.

400 Meters

  • Ilusorio finished 11th with a time of 1:03.66 earning NESCAC qualification.

  • Camille Cortes (Annandale, Va.) finished 14th with a time of 1:04.88 earning NESCAC qualification.

1500 Meters

  • Alexa Estes (Virginia Beach, Va.) finished second with a time of 4:46.99 earning NESCAC and NE D3 qualification.

  • Lilla Kate Tucker (Marietta, Ga.) finished fifth with a time of 4:50.81 earning NESCAC qualification.

  • April Schilling (Amherst, Mass.) finished seventh with a time of 4:51.02 earning NESCAC qualification.

  • Abby Williams (Waterville, Maine) finished 10th with a time of 4:51.38 earning NESCAC qualification.

  • Caroline Graziani (Concord, Mass.) finished 16th with a time of 5:02.69 earning NESCAC qualification.

  • Julia Coyle (Pomfret Center, Conn.) finished 22nd with a time of 5:05.27 earning NESCAC qualification.

  • Katie Keating (Dorchester, Mass.) finished 29th with a time of 5:08.85 earning NESCAC qualification.

  • Alsacia Timmerman (Morrisville, Vt.) finished 30th with a time of 5:09.26 earning NESCAC qualification.

  • Chase Ireland (Prospect, Conn.) finished 34th with a time of 5:10.78 earning NESCAC qualification.

  • Lea Adelman (Natick, Mass.) finished 40th with a time of 5:14.73 earning NESCAC qualification.

5000 Meters

  • McDonough claimed victory setting a new school record with a time of 16.29.06, which currently ranks first in Division III, earning NESCAC and NE D3 qualification.

  • Kiera Tallas (Fountain Valley, Calif.) finished second with a time of 17:42.75 earning NESCAC and NE D3 qualification.

  • Caitlin Bird (Shrewsbury, Mass.) finished 17th with a time of 20:07.13 earning NESCAC qualification.

400 Hurdles

  • Alina Newman (Santa Monica, Calif.) finished second with a time of 1:08.92 earning NESCAC qualification.

  • Liz Freeman (Maynard, Mass.) finished fourth with a time of 1:11.52 earning NESCAC qualification.

3000 Steeplechase

  • Cleo Kilpatrick (Minneapolis, Minn.) finished second with a time of 12:43.02, earning NESCAC qualification.

4x400 Relay

  • The group of Estes, Tucker, Keating, and Schilling claimed victory with a time of 4:10.65.

In the Field

Pole Vault

  • Grace Mattaliano (Norfolk, Mass.) finished third clearing a height of 3.10m, tying the school record for the third straight week, and earning NESCAC qualification.

High Jump

  • Mattaliano finished fifth clearing a height of 1.51m earning NESCAC qualification.

Triple Jump

  • Brenna O'Brien (North Andover, Mass.) finished seventh with a distance of 9.69m earning NESCAC qualification.

Conn returns to action next weekend as the Camels host the 2025 Silfen Invitational beginning on Friday afternoon on Silfen Track.
