COVENTRY, Conn. -- The Connecticut College men's rowing team bested the University of Connecticut in the inaugural Conn Cup on Sunday morning at Coventry Lake.

The Camels and Huskies competed in a pair of races on the day. Samira Grossmann-Ferris coxed the 1V8 boat to victory with a time of 6:42.6 over the 2,050-meter course, besting UConn's top boat by just over a second. In the 2V8 race, Conn was four seconds off the winning pace with a time of 6:57.7.

Conn College returns to the water on Saturday, April 12 against WPI at Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Mass.
