McDonough Finishes Second and Third in 5000m and 1500m to Lead Track and Field at Nationals

GENEVA, Ohio – The Connecticut College track and field teams closed out the 2025 NCAA Championships with the men's team finishing tied for 67th with two points scored while the women's team finished tied for 17th with 14 points scored.

Grace McDonough (Londonderry, N.H.) got the afternoon started running in the 1500m. Following an early fall from the junior, McDonough fought her way back through the field to finish in third place with a time of 4:25.49 to earn six points for the team and earn First Team All-American honors.

The next to run for Conn was Blessing Kieh (Monrovia, Liberia) in the 100m. Kieh finished ninth in the finals with a time of 11.88 to earn Second Team All-American honors, missing out on the first team by 0.01 seconds.

Matt Scardigno (Port Washington, N.Y.) was the lone representative from the men's team, and he competed in the 5000m. The senior bided his time, slowly working his way through the field, before finishing in seventh place with a time of 14:16.92 to earn two points for the team and earn First Team All-American honors.

McDonough returned to action for the women's 5000m, the final event for Conn. McDonough pulled away down the stretch, finishing with a time of 16:16.36 to earn a comfortable second place, collecting eight points for the team and another First Team All-American honor.
