NEW LONDON, Conn. – Twelve Connecticut College student-athletes were named to the 2025 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® Men's and Women's At-Large Teams on Tuesday.
The award recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. Receiving the honor for the Camels were senior
Patrick Atkins from men's lacrosse, senior
Edie Banovic from women's rowing, junior
Paisley Brown from women's rowing, sophomore
Jesse Ellis from men's water polo, junior
Emma Luna from women's water polo, junior
Will McEvoy from men's ice hockey, junior
Bridget McGann from field hockey and women's ice hockey, senior
Nick McLaughlin from men's lacrosse, senior
Devan Newhook from men's ice hockey, junior
Sebastian Parilov from men's water polo, senior
Claire Sammons from women's ice hockey, and senior
Eliza Shamah from women's lacrosse. Atkins, McGann and Newhook were repeat selections while the rest earned at-large honors for the first time.
To be an Academic All-District® honoree, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore at their institution, have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or above, and meet the participation threshold for their particular sport. NCAA eligible sports for at-large team consideration include women's bowling, women's crew/rowing, men's and women's fencing, women's field hockey, men's and women's golf, men's and women's gymnastics, men's and women's ice hockey, men's and women's lacrosse, men's and women's rifle, men's and women's skiing, men's volleyball, men's and women's water polo, and men's wrestling.
The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes men's and women's at-large honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in July.
