AUSTIN, Texas – Connecticut College distance runner
Grace McDonough (Londonderry, N.H.) has been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America® Division III Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Team, as announced by the national organization on Tuesday.
McDonough, a junior who is majoring in human development and psychology, was one of 14 student-athletes who landed a spot on the second team. A total of 46 student-athletes from across the country were honored at the Division III level, as determined by a vote of sports information directors.
McDonough earns CSC (formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-America® recognition for the first time in her career. She becomes the fourth member of the women's track and field/cross country program to be honored, joining a list that includes Malissa Lindsey (2023), Kim Bolick (2015) and Kelsey Taylor (2011).
The award caps an outstanding year for McDonough, who secured All-America honors in four events across the indoor and outdoor track seasons. She most recently finished second in the 5,000m and third in the 1,500m at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, and at the NCAA Indoor Championships in March she placed third in both the mile and distance medley relay. Additionally, she won titles in both the 5,000m and 1,500m at the NESCAC Championships and was named the meet's most outstanding performer. She was also an All-NESCAC and USTFCCCA All-Region selection during the cross country season.
College Sports Communicators (CSC) began the distinguished Academic All-America® program in 1952, and since then, has honored more than 40,000 deserving student-athletes from numerous sports across all divisions with these elite Academic All-America® scholar-athlete honors.
