Women's Lax Earns IWLCA Academic Accolades

NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. – The Connecticut College women's lacrosse program has earned Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Association (IWLCA) Academic Honor Squad laurels.
 
Every school with a team grade point average of a 3.0 or higher received the recognition, and the Camels easily surpassed the standard by recording a 3.70 GPA.
 
Additionally, the Camels placed 12 student-athletes – Caroline Bruce (Acton, Mass.), Casey Chesner (Great Falls, Va.), Kate Coughlin (Reading, Mass.), Aine Downey (Brookline, Mass.), Elizabeth Gill (Hingham, Mass.), Brogan Holbrough (Rochester, N.Y.), Emma McDonnell (Stevenson, Md.), Emma Ognibene (New Canaan, Conn.), Greta Panke (Milldale, Conn.), Eliza Shamah (Acton, Mass.), Suzie Smith (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.), and Sydney Weber (Hanover, Mass.) – on the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll. This is the second consecutive year that Bruce, Downey, Ognibene, Panke, Shamah, and Weber have earned the honor. Student-athletes who are a junior, senior, or graduate student and have a cumulative GPA of a 3.50 or better received the prestigious recognition.
 
Connecticut College graduated six seniors and is slated to return 15 letterwinners next season.
