NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Connecticut College men's and women's swimming and diving teams—along with six individual Camels—were recently honored by the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA).
Both programs were recognized as a Scholar All-America Team for the Spring 2025 semester. To qualify for this prestigious recognition, teams had to earn a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 during the Spring 2025 semester. The Camels cleared the bar with a 3.78 team GPA on the women's side and a 3.62 team GPA on the men's.
The CSCAA also named over 2,700 swimmers and divers to its Scholar All-American Team for the 2024-25 season. Senior
Justin Finkel (Cheshire, Conn.), who earned first-team status for the fourth-straight season, was joined by junior
Matthew Morris (Alexandria, Va.), sophomores
Cam Bizjak (Willoughby, Ohio) and
Evan Lyons (Longmeadow, Mass.), and first years
Carrick Shea (Grafton, Mass.) and
Nicholas Holovacs (Hingham, Mass.). All six Camels landed first-team spots.
To qualify for First-Team Scholar All-America, student-athletes must have earned a GPA of 3.5 or higher and participated in their national championship. Second-Team selections must have also earned a 3.5 GPA or higher, and met a "B" time standard for the national championship or qualified for a diving zone qualification meet.
Finkel was one of nine men's CSCAA Swimmers and Divers of the Year who earned the prestigious recognition. He joined a group that included Hubert Kos (Texas), Carson Tyler (Indiana), Gretchen Walsh (Virginia), Kaley McIntyre (NYU), Kailee Payne (Ithaca), Trent Makowiec (SUNY Geneseo), Luna Mertins (Lynn), and Aurora Zanin (Indian River).
