HADLEY, Mass. – Connecticut College senior Elliot Spatz (Bellevue, Wash.) was named New England Small College Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the sport of men's soccer, as announced by the league on Monday afternoon.
Spatz led Conn. to a 1-0-1 week. On Tuesday night, Spatz opened the scoring in a 2-0 win at Merchant Marine, as the Camels picked up their first win of the campaign. On Saturday at No. 17 Bowdoin, the Camels were trailing 1-0 late. However, Spatz stepped up, putting home the tying goal with just 100 seconds left, as the Camels earned the 1-1 draw.
"It was great to see Elliot score two goals this week," said head coach Reuben Burk. "He's continuing to regain his confidence and form after coming back from an injury. More importantly, he continues to do a great job leading our group on and off the field."
Spatz earned his second career NESCAC Player of the Week honor, after picking up his first in 2023.
Conn (1-1-2 overall, 0-1-1 NESCAC) returns home tomorrow afternoon to take on Salve Regina at 4:00 p.m. on Freeman Field.
