DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The Connecticut College men's cross country team finished 10th out of 32 teams at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday morning at the Robert Dowd Cross Country Course.
Racing in a competitive field that included programs from NCAA Division I, II and III, the Camels topped all but one DIII team with a score of 305 points. Boston University bested the field with 60 points while UMass Lowell (98) and Brown University (104) rounded out the top of the standings.
Ellis Iurilli-Hough (Melrose, Mass.) turned in the fastest time of the day for the Camels. He covered the 8K course in 25:14.17, good enough to finish 22nd overall.
Conn's next four runners all finished in the top 100 of a field that included 253 competitors.
Brendan Capodanno (Port Jefferson, N.Y.) took 47th overall in a time of 25:47.77 while
Ronan Staab (White Plains, N.Y.) placed 65th in 26:12.56. The duo of
Griffin Selber (State College, Pa.) and
Josh Barzilai (Princeton, N.J.) rounded out the group, with the former finishing 86th in 26:35.42 and the latter placing 98th in 26:46.03.
Nicholas DeMarco (Albany, N.Y.) and
Deem Quinn (Cranston, R.I.) filled out Conn's top-7, clocking in with times of 26:53.83 and 27:02.75, respectively.
Conn will next compete at the Paul Short Invitational on Friday, October 3 in Bethlehem, PA.
