DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The No. 12 Connecticut College women's cross country team finished fourth out of 36 teams at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday morning at the Robert Dowd Cross Country Course.
The Camels turned in a strong showing in a competitive field that included programs from all NCAA levels. Conn finished ahead of every Division II and III team in the field with 157 points, placing fourth overall behind DI programs Boston University (35), Brown University (68) and UMass Lowell (130).
Grace McDonough (Londonderry, N.H.) made her season debut and was the fastest DIII runner in the field. She completed the 6K course in 22:09.96 to finish 22nd overall out of 275 runners.
Kiera Tallas (Fountain Valley, Calif.) and
Abby Williams (Waterville, Maine) were the next to cross the finish line for Conn. The former clocked in at 22:24.42 to take 28th while the latter logged a time of 22:26.68 and placed 29th.
Alexa Estes (Virginia Beach, Va.) and
Alsacia Timmerman (Morrisville, Vt.) rounded out the scoring for the Camels, finishing 44th (22:44.68) and 52nd (22:56.25), respectively.
April Schilling (Amherst, Mass.) and
Liz Freeman (Maynard, Mass.) filled out Conn's top-7 with times of 23:23.99 and 24:19.86, respectively.
Conn will next compete at the Paul Short Invitational on Friday, October 3 in Bethlehem, PA.
