HARTFORD, Conn. — The Connecticut College men's cross country team opened the 2025 season with a runner-up showing at the Trinity Invitational on Saturday morning at Wickham Park.
Conn went head-to-head with Tufts University for the team title, with the latter finishing on top by just four points. Both squads placed four runners in the top 10, but the Jumbos' fifth finisher sealed the victory with an 11th-place showing.
Ellis Iurilli-Hough (Melrose, Mass.) led the charge for the Camels with a time of 16:24.9, good enough for second place in the 5K race. Brendan Capodanno (Port Jefferson, N.Y.) took third in 16:37.9 while Griffin Selber (State College, Pa.) and Ronan Staab (White Plains, N.Y.) finished sixth (16:41.7) and ninth (16:56.3), respectively.
Josh Barzilai (Princeton, N.J.) completed the scoring with a 22nd-place finish (17:16.7) while Deem Quinn (Cranston, R.I.) (17:31.5) and Avery Selber (State College, Pa.) (17:43.7) rounded out Conn's top-7 finishers. A total of 14 Camels competed in the event.
Conn returns to action at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday, September 20 at 10:30 a.m.
