HARTFORD, Conn. — The Connecticut College women's cross country team opened the 2025 season with a fourth-place finish at the Trinity Invitational on Saturday morning at Wickham Park.
Conn's depth was on full display on a day in which many of its top runners did not compete. Still, the Camels had enough to finish ahead of squads from Salve Regina, UMass Dartmouth, Clark and Roger Williams in the team standings.
Tufts took home the team title with 36 points and placed five runners in the top 10 of the individual standings. Trinity junior Paige Jaenicke took individual medalist honors with a time of 19:25.8, nearly 18 seconds faster than her nearest competitor on the 5K course.
Julia Coyle (Pomfret Center, Conn.) turned in the top time for the Camels, finishing 14th overall in 20:50.7.
Liz Freeman (Maynard, Mass.) was the next to cross in 18th (20:58.4) while
Mary Lonergan (Andover, Mass.) was close behind in 25th (21:30.7).
Gabbie Mogavero (West Springfield, Mass.) and
Olivia Ferraro (Cheshire, Conn.) completed the scoring for Conn, with the former placing 32nd (22:03.2) and the latter 36th (22:15.8). Newcomers
Juliet Provost (Seekonk, Mass.) and
