Women's Track and Field Runs for First Time in New Year

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Connecticut College women's track and field team returned to action competing at the Wesleyan Winter Invitational.

200 Meters

  • Brooke Schulze (Oceanport, N.J.) finished seventh with a time of 27.73.

400 Meters

  • Alexis Melvin (Wilmington, Mass.) finished second with a time of 1:03.98.

  • Schulze finished third with a time of 1:04.77.

800 Meters

  • Caitlin Bird (Shrewsbury, Mass.) finished second with a time of 2:45.45.

  • Olivia Ferraro (Cheshire, Conn.) finished third with a time of 2:45.95.

1000 Meters

  • Alexa Estes (Virginia Beach, Va.) claimed victory with a time of 2:56.48 earning NE D3 qualification.

  • Grace McDonough (Londonderry, N.H.) finished second with a time of 2:56.49 earning NE D3 qualification.

  • Liz Freeman (Maynard, Mass.) finished seventh with a time of 3:19.15.

  • Chase Ireland (Prospect, Conn.) finished eighth with a time of 3:24.54.

  • Cleo Kilpatrick (Minneapolis, Minn.) finished ninth with a time of 3:24.81.

Mile

3000 Meters

  • Violet Lowney (Medfield, Mass.) finished 10th with a time of 11:59.47.

4x400 Relay

  • The group of Estes, Tucker, Graziani, and Schilling claimed victory with a time of 4:15.63.

4x800 Relay

  • The group of McDonough, Williams, Freeman, and Abby Fernald (Avon, Conn.) claimed victory with a time of 9:51.21.

Long Jump

Triple Jump

  • Brenna O'Brien (North Andover, Mass.) finished seventh with a jump of 9.63m.

Shot Put

  • Marly Kasdon (Weston, Mass.) finished eighth with a throw of 10.75m.

Weight Put

  • Kasdon finished 10th with a throw of 11.03m.

Conn returns to action next weekend as the Camels make the short trek to the Coast Academy on Saturday for the Coast Guard Academy Invitational.
