HARTFORD, Conn. – Michael Stenberg (Needham, Mass.) scored at 11:02 of the third period to break a 2-2 tie, as the Connecticut College men's ice hockey team defeated host Trinity College 4-2 on Friday night from Koeppel Community Sports Center. Conn did not go away and eventually evened the score with under two minutes remaining, as Lawrence fired a shot past Bobak to make it 2-2 heading to the third.
The teams traded chances to open the final frame, but both goalies held strong. However, with just under nine minutes to play, Conn took their first lead. Stenberg found space at the top of the circle and fired over the blocker of Bobak to make it 3-2 as Logan Cleary (Mentor, Ohio) and Reece Cordray (Verona, Wis.) picked up the assists. The Camels remained in front, before Trinity pulled Bobak with just under two minutes to play, but Lawrence was able to spring Ryan McKenna (Garden City, N.Y.) free, who potted it into the empty net to give Conn the 4-2 win.
