NEW LONDON, Conn. – Connecticut College has hired Santiago Moran '16 as interim head coach of the men's and women's squash programs, as announced by Director of Athletics
Mo White on Tuesday.
Moran has over a decade of experience coaching and developing top-tier junior talent, most recently at Green Farms Academy in Westport, Conn. He will make his collegiate head coaching debut with the Camels, though he is no stranger to the program.
"I am thrilled to welcome Santi back to Connecticut College as our Interim Head Squash Coach," said White. "As a 2016 alumnus and a former standout student-athlete on one of the most successful teams in Camel Squash history, Santi understands the rich tradition and values of our program firsthand. He combines an intense passion for Conn with a strong track record as a highly regarded coach, making him the ideal leader to guide our men's and women's teams forward."
Moran spent the past year at Green Farms Academy serving as head coach for the junior varsity boys team and lead squash professional for the top middle school team. He also provided coaching support for the varsity girls team at the 2026 U.S. High School Team Championships.
Prior to joining GFA, Moran spent two years as the squash director at Squash Haven in New Haven, Conn. He built a program that served over 130 students from diverse backgrounds, and managed a coaching team of staff and volunteers that serviced beginner to elite levels.
Moran began his coaching career in 2016 at Mission Squash in Houston, Texas, where he spent seven years developing young and up-and-coming players. He was named Director of Squash in 2018, and during his tenure he coached several elite players, including Junior Championship Tour athletes who went on to earn college scholarships.
A 2016 graduate of Conn with a degree in economics, Moran was a four-year varsity player for the Camels who competed at positions 4-9. The program recorded 43 wins across his four seasons, including a three-year stretch of double-digit win totals.
