Men's Track and Field Competes in Busy Weekend in Boston

NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Connecticut College men's track and field team returned to action competing at both the Tufts Cupid Challenge and the Boston University Valentine Invitational.

AT TUFTS

60 Meters

  • Jamal Bakar (Valatie, N.Y.) finished sixth with a time of 7.27.

3000 Meters

60M Hurdles

  • Evan Rawlings (Mansfield, Mass.) finished 21st with a time of 8.90 setting a NE D3 minimum qualifying mark.

4x400 Relay

Pole Vault

  • Anders Larson (Concord, N.H.) finished sixth clearing a personal best height of 4.61m earning NE D3 qualification.

Shot Put

  • Abi Perez (Derby, Conn.) finished 29th with a throw of 11.16m, the seventh best mark in program history.

AT BOSTON UNIVERSITY

200 Meters

  • Bakar finished 76th with a time of 22.70 setting a NE D3 minimum qualifying mark.

400 Meters

  • Luke Alban (Piedmont, Calif.) finished 48th with a time of 49.86 setting a NE D3 minimum qualifying mark.

  • Lucas Doben (Longmeadow, Mass.) finished 65th with a time of 50.42 setting a NE D3 minimum qualifying mark.

  • Malcolm Frank-McKnight (Milton, Mass.) finished 83rd with a time of 50.98 setting a NE D3 minimum qualifying mark.

1000 Meters

  • David Iacino (Burlington, Conn.) finished 47th with a time of 2:31.02 earning NE D3 qualification.

5000 Meters

  • Ellis Iurilli-Hough (Melrose, Mass.) finished 170th with a time of 14:48.01 earning NE D3 qualification.

4x400 Relay

  • The group of Ty Dorow (Barrington, N.H.), Frank-McKnight, Kevin Lieue (Bellevue, Wash.), and Doben finished 22nd with a time of 3:25.92.

Long Jump

  • Errol Apostolopoulos (Marblehead, Mass.) finished seventh with a jump of 6.53m setting a NE D3 minimum qualifying mark.

Conn returns to action next weekend as the Camels travel to Springfield, Mass. for the Springfield Triangle Classic.
