Women's Squash Falls to Middlebury, Downs Vassar on Senior Day

NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Connecticut College women's squash team wrapped up the regular season, falling to Middlebury on Saturday and defeating Vassar on Sunday.

Conn came up short on Saturday against Middlebury, falling to the Panthers 9-0. The two best performances for the Camels came from Kendry Navas (Cartagena, Colombia) at first singles who lost 11-5, 11-7, and 11-2 and Ainsley Ellison (Westfield, N.J.) who lost 11-4, 11-6, and 11-5.

On Sunday, Conn celebrated senior day and defeated Vassar 9-0. The Camels opened the match already up 2-0 as Vassar defaulted eighth and ninth singles. Conn won the other seven matches in straight sets, as Navas, Aarushi Reddy (Delray Beach, Fla.), Gwyneth Perez (New Haven, Conn.), Miranda Medina (Houston, Texas), Ariana Michaca (Bronx, N.Y.), Ellison, and Kimberly Lucero (New York, N.Y.) picking up the wins. 

Conn (4-11, 0-8 NESCAC) returns to action in two weeks for the CSA Team Championships beginning on February 27 in Philadelphia, Pa.
