NEW LONDON, Conn.-- The Connecticut College men's squash team closed out the regular season, falling to Middlebury on Saturday, before defeating Vassar on Sunday.
Conn opened up the Conroy Cup round robin, defeating Vassar 5-4 on Friday. Henry Pelletier (West Hartford, Conn.) and Adam Elkaliuoby (Brooklyn, N.Y.) started strong winning 3-0 and 3-1 at first and second singles respectively. Vassar claimed the next four matches, before Andrew Nemphos (Baltimore, Md.), Osiris Perex (Bronx, N.Y.), and Arman Sana (Richmond, Va.) won the final three matches, to give the Camels the win.
Conn opened up day two with a 6-3 win over Fordham. Pelletier, Elkaliuoby, and Noah Fish (Dobbs Ferry, N.Y.) picked up wins at the first three singles, before Perez, Sana, and Ward McGill (Louisville, Ky.) claimed the final three matches, giving Conn the victory.
In Saturday's nightcap, Conn defeated Hobart 5-4. Pelletier earned another victory at first singles, but Hobart won the next four matches. The Camels responded however, as Nemphos, Perez, Sana, and McGill all won, as Conn picked up the victory.
On Sunday, Conn battled Haverford for the top spot in the Conroy Cup group, ultimately falling 7-2. Pelletier and Elkaliuoby picked up straight set victories, but that was all for the Camels, as Conn ended the championship in second place.
Conn's season comes to a close with an 8-11 record.
