HADLEY, Mass. – Eight Connecticut College student-athletes were named to their respective NESCAC Winter All-Sportsmanship Teams, as announced by the conference on Tuesday.
Senior RJ Casey (Nashville, Tenn.) of men's basketball, senior Avery Burns (Orleans, Mass.) of women's basketball, senior Reid Shafer (Coppell, Texas) of men's hockey, senior Bridget McGann (West Hartford, Conn.) of women's hockey, senior Henry Pelletier (West Hartford, Conn.) of men's squash, senior Ainsley Ellison (Westfield, N.J.) of women's squash, junior Brenan Guiliano (North Caldwell, N.J.) of men's swimming and diving, and senior Kate Edison (Westford, Mass.) of women's swimming and diving all made the team.
Of the 85 individuals honored this winter, only nine hold multiple All-Sportsmanship Team citations. Included in that group are Pelletier and Guilianoi; the former earned the honor in 2025 while the latter did so in 2024.
The NESCAC All-Sportsmanship Team recognizes student-athletes from each varsity sport who have demonstrated outstanding dedication to sportsmanship. These student-athletes exhibit respect for themselves, teammates, coaches, opponents and spectators. They display sportsmanship, not only as a participant in their sport, but also as a spectator and in their everyday lives. Through their positive actions and example, these student-athletes inspire others to adhere to the quality of sportsmanship that the NESCAC and the NCAA endorse.
