HADLEY, Mass. – The Connecticut College ice hockey team had two members recognized by the New England Small College Athletic Conference on Tuesday morning as announced by the league office in its annual awards.

Junior Pete Stanger (Bathurst, New Brunswick) and sophomore Will Lawrence (Bethesda, Md.) were both named to the second team, becoming the first Camels named to the All-NESCAC team since 2018.

Stanger appeared in all 25 games for Conn, leading the Camels blue line with 14 points on five goals and nine assists. Stanger recorded multiple points twice, including a goal and an assist against Wesleyan on November 15 and two assists in a crucial 4-3 win over Williams on January 30.

"Pete has had a breakout season and we are proud of what he has achieved this season," said head coach Jim Ward. "Pete's skating and puck moving ability makes him very effective with breakouts, while his poise and quick release makes him a constant threat on the power play. Pete's game has improved steadily throughout the season and we look forward to what he can bring to the team in his senior year."

Lawrence joined Stanger on the second team, after appearing in 24 games, recording a team-high 22 points on 10 goals and 12 assists. Lawrence's 10 goals rank tied for eighth in the NESCAC, while his 22 points rank tied for 12th. Lawrence's best weekend of the season came on January 23 and 24, when he was named NESCAC Player of the Week after factoring in on six of seven Camels goals in a split with Trinity and Wesleyan. Lawrence was also named a semifinalist for the Joe Concannon Award.

On Lawrence, Ward added: "Will is a consistent offensive threat whenever he steps on the ice. The energy and enthusiasm that he brings to the game is contagious and sparks the level of our game. In addition to his offensive talent his defensive play makes him among the best transition players in the league. We are excited to see where Will's game goes in the coming years."

Conn College finished the season with an overall record of 10-14-1 (6-11-1 NESCAC), highlighted by the first season sweep of Trinity since 2008-09. The Camels finished eighth in the NESCAC to make their third consecutive conference tournament appearance, pushing top-seed Hamilton to the brink, before falling 5-4 in overtime in the quarterfinals.
