BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) announced its annual Division III awards on Wednesday with two members of the Connecticut College women's water polo team recognized on the All-Conference Teams.
Senior Emma Luna (Wahiawa, Hawaii), earned All-Conference First Team honors for the fourth straight year. Luna leads the team in scoring with 57 points on 36 goals and 19 assists. Additionally, she has chipped in 15 steals, drawing 13 ejections, along with two field blocks.
Joining Luna is senior
Melia Lorch (Encinitas, Calif.) who found a spot on the honorable mentions, for the first time in her career. Lorch has tallied 25 points during the season, on five goals and 20 assists, adding 14 drawn ejections, and 12 steals.
"Both of these ladies are deserving," said head coach
Matt Anderson. "For four years, Emma has been recognized by opposing coaches as one of the top threats in the conference, and it's no surprise she made first team. I am extremely happy that Melia made honorable mention as I believe she is the best defensive player in the league. Two very deserving players for sure."
All awards were based on nominations and votes by the head coaches of the league's nine Division III region institutions (Augustana, Austin College, Carthage College, Connecticut College, Grove City College, Macalester, Penn State Behrend, Washington & Jefferson College, Wheaton College (Mass.)). The All-Conference Team honors the 14 best players (12 field players, two goalies) in the majority opinion of the coaches, along with an Honorable Mention team.
Conn College finished the regular season at 3-8 overall and 2-6 in CWPA play. The Camels return to action on Friday against Macalester at 11:30 a.m. to open up play in the 2026 CWPA Championships hosted by Wheaton College in Norton, Mass.
